Bro Strider will always be the most badass guardian ever. I spent my night not doing work or reading IEPs or writing or doing anything even remotely productive and instead rewatching all of the Homestuck flashes and drooling over them. And Bro’s awesomeness. I had fun collecting screenshots for my collection of favorite panels and I thought I’d share these ones since most belong to flashes and not static images. There’s probably already another Bro appreciation post out there somewhere, but I can’t find one and it’s 2 in the morning and I’m loopy and idgaf. :D
My logic is that there is never enough Bro. Never.
And on that note, I’m going to bed. Goodnight, Tumblr. <3
Edit: Also, I had so much fun with this one that I decided to make them for Dad and Mom too!

Mom Lalonde. This woman is kickass. Classy and elegant, but she drinks all the time and can take out monsters with a single punch. And I don’t care if people accuse her of being a bad mother because of her ironic negligence with the whole alcohol thing, she loves her daughter fiercely and shares her passion for wizards, but Rose misses that entirely. And she’d do anything to protect her, even if it means leaving her drink behind and setting off to destroy monsters. “A mother will do whatever is best for her children.”
The alpha session is all well and good, but I really do miss the beta guardians! I did photosets for Bro and Dad, so I had to do one for Mom as well. <3

Lil’ Cal. I have very complicated feelings for Cal. On the one hand, all someone has to do is go “HAA HAA HEE HEE HOO HOO” in order to make me flip my shit and freak the fuck out out. On the other hand, I kind of like him in a way. Especially since I’ve started writing Bro — I just love how attached Bro is to Lil’ Cal, and how important he is in the Strider household. Even if he does torment Dave. Bro’s and Cal’s relationship is heartwarming, and that one picture of baby Bro sleeping on top of Lil’ Cal gets me every time.
And I really enjoy putting together photosets! It’s a lot of fun to go rooting through the 4500+ pages and hunt down panels with certain characters. This goes along with Bro, Dad, and Mom. I might try to do some of the kids/trolls next — anyone have anyone in particular they want to see a compilation of photos for?
But first I need to finish Jade’s house’s layout. I hadn’t even intended to make a Cal photoset, I was just trying to find all the panels for the Harley house. God damn these impossible rooms.

Aradia Megido: Because people forget how fucking badass she is, in all of her incarnations. Alive, dead, soulbot, and God Tier. She’s awesome.
Help guys I have a problem. I have become addicted to photosets. They’re just too much fun. So, whoops, looks like I’m doing troll sets now that I’ve finished the guardians. Starting from the bottom of the hemospectrum and working my way up, so Tavros is next!

Tavros Nitram has a tragic life. Labelled a failure as a troll because he’s impossible of hatred, as Karkat puts it. Mind controlled into jumping off a cliff and paralyzing himself. Stuck in a wheelchair with the same troll who did that to him constantly tormenting him and making him apologize for “being crippled.” Being put in a position where he’s expected to kill her and end her suffering but he’s too soft to go through with it, even if she’s made his life a living hell, so he ends up crying alone while the cocoon explodes. Being brave enough to go after her for revenge, but dying with his own lance driven through his chest. And yet, he never stops smiling. He’s so optimistic, mischievous, and his heart is in the right place. He’s dorky, with his love of roleplaying and children’s card games and Pupa Pan, but he is legitimately so sweet, even if he is a little clueless.
I just wanted to upload this real quick before dashing off to kindergarten! Tavros is my baby. I have seriously never identified so much with a character before. He will always have a special place in my heart because of that.

Sollux Captor, everyone’s favorite bipolar mutant with a penchant for bifurcation. Also known as that guy who’s died way too many times. I liked exploring the Derse/Prospit color scheme going on here because Sollux naturally has two dream selves, one on purple Derse and one on yellow Prospit. His blood color is yellow and his eye/psionic power colors are red and blue — which combine to make purple. I just thought it was neat.
Sorry for spamming you guys with these troll photosets. Seriously. I’ve just been stressed out these past two days, and making these makes me feel better. xD If you’re sick of seeing them, you can tumblr savior #appreciation posts! I won’t get offended, I promise. 8)

Karkat Vantas is the biggest ball of obscenity-spewing rage you’ll ever meet, but he’s a total softie on the inside. He really does care for his friends so much, and I’m pretty sure he’s the character who’s cried the most in Homestuck. He’s a fascinating character, really.
Just wanted to throw this one up on here real quick before dashing off to the library before class! Karkat’s photoset has been the hardest one yet because there’s no discernible color scheme to really work with, and I’m obsessed with sticking to some kind of color scheme and making things aesthetically pleasing. I eventually managed to pull this together, but I’m not really happy with it at all. :/
And now it’s off to class until 7:00. The bad thing about being an education major: late classes. I’m exhausted after teaching all morning, I don’t want to sit through a three hour lecture.

Nepeta Leijon is awesome, and I don’t care what anyone else says. She’s a silly little catgirl who is a shipper (I just really love the fact that she actually has a legit shipping wall. That right there is fucking ace) and roleplays with Terezi and lives in a cave instead of a proper hive. But she’s still kickass in her own way — she also slays and skins animals for sustenance, and she will willingly attack an insane, sober Gamzee after watching her moirail get murdered, even though she knows that she’s leaping to her death.
I wish there were more pictures of Nepeta to work with. :< But alas, she’s so minor that there’s not that many to play around with. I still love her.

Terezi Pyrope is one hell of a girl. She’s blind, sees by sniffing and licking everything, and has an intense passion for JUST1C3. Particularly of the hanging variety. She loves colors, especially red, thinks that chalk is delicious, acts out elaborate court scenes with her stuffed scalemates, and roleplays as a mighty dragonyy’d. And she is awesome.
Terezi is quite the interesting character. xD I like her. And I liked making her photoset, she has lovely colors to work with!
